BENIN CITY-A nineteen-year-old boy has killed his girlfriend and dumped her corpse by a roadside in Benin City.
The deceased lover girl, Matilda Odiri, 18 was stabbed to death inside her boyfriend’s room at 2, Akugbe Street, Off Sikuko road, Ogida, Benin City, last Sunday.
She was said to have gone to her boyfriend’s house where she was expected to pass the night when she was stabbed with a knife on her right upper breast by her boyfriend identified as Junior Omo Shaba.

Police said the boy in his statement confessed and admitted that he murdered his lover and dumped her body on the street to cover his evil deed after an argument ensued between them at night.
The girl was alleged to have expressed resentment over her boyfriend’s returning home late as he was already keeping another girl outside.
Police also stated that the suspect admitted to have killed his girlfriend with a knife which she used to peel some orenges they took that night.
He was to have escaped to Aduwawa area of Benin in an attempt to flee when his father facilitated his arrest.
Commenting further on the unfortunate incident the Public Relations Officer for Edo State Police Command DSP Chidi Nwabuzor said it is a case of murder and the suspect, Junior Omo Shaba would be arraigned in court soon.
