ASABA – A Legal Practitional and Rice farmer in Delta State, Mr. Ramos Guanah has charged politicians not to toy with the country’s hard earned democracy.
Guanah who spoke in an interview with newsmen on Thursday in Asaba, said that any threat to the country’s democracy would be a threat to the peoples collective unity and existence.
He said that people struggles and laid down their lives to ensure that to ensure the democracy that the country enjoys today, adding that MKO Abiola deserve more recognition than what was accorded him today.
He said that Nigerians were also looking forward to see the dividends of democracy trickle down to ensure security of life, improved electricity supply, roads infrastructure and jobs creations among others.
According to Guanah, Abiola remains the arrow point of our fight for democracy and he deserves the recognition by Mr President and even more.
Government should remember that he (Abiola) left a family behind.
“And political actors should realise that the democracy we are enjoying today is as a result of the struggle of some people and some even died in the process.
“So, they should not do anything that will threaten our democracy.
“The insecurity in the country if not dealt with now, have the potential of derailing our democracy and collective existence as a people”
