The only thing that is permanent in life is change and this axiom no doubt is manifesting at both the federal and state levels of governance following outcome of the elections.

In the next few days or so, there will be new sets of people holding political offices and some of those names that made headlines in the last four years will no more be relevant in the new dispensation.

Already, principal officers have been inaugurated across the country’s House of Assemblies and the ministerial appointments are been released by the presidency, while the lobby for positions is on by politicians who no doubt worked for the success of their political party at the polls.

. It is useful to point out that with these changes at the Executive and legislature in the country and the political undercurrents that have accompanied the elections so far, there arose the necessity to go to God almighty for divine intervention.

In my closet while praying, the Lord in His mysterious ways ministered to me that we should be very careful not to use materialism to judge whether He has answered our prayers or not and God said to me, son, let my people know that I am going to bless them beyond their measures especially in sustaining the peaceful conduct of the elections which many had thought will set the nation ablaze.

The Lord warned that, “I will give them blessings, but they must not allow material things of this life to be the yard stick to rate whether God answer prayers or not.

“They should not rate life with materialism, because materialism is actually the operation of the children of this world. For the children of God, our value is not in the amount of money we have.”

With this it is obvious that as children of God our value is not in what we possess, our value is not in what we have acquired or even our names, title, academic and political strength.

That is not where our values are. The highest value that a man can possess is to be a child of God and that Jesus is Lord over his life.

That is your greatest values you can ever have. For example, until man sinned against God, man’s life was not rated with cash.

Today, when you go to work, the amount of money you are paid for a month, that is what your company is telling you, your life is worth for a month.

But, almighty God says, your life is worth so much to Him.Therefore, no matter what God gives you, do not look down on another person. In fact, the greatness of a person is his ability to relate with people that do not have as much as he has.

Let us imagine this, cash or wealth which we all struggle and sometimes die for, come from two sources, mammon or from God. It should be pointed out that money is a spirit.. We know money answer all things. But you can have so much cash and still have several things in your life that is not answered.

But you see, the truth is that when a man gets money from mammon, when people join cults, when they prostitute and they do all kinds of things to acquire so much wealth, what they have most times is given to them by mammon.

That is why, when people have so much money from mammon, they step on the head of other people. They are so full of themselves.

It is however a different ball game when the money is from God. The more of things you have from God the more humble you become. You begin to see everything as this is the doing of God.

But when mammon is giving you money, you want to rule people, you want to control everybody and you want to manipulate people. It is expected that the more you have, the more humble you should become.

In the book of Luke 12:15- Jesus speaking said, “Take heed, beware of covetousness, for a man’s life consisted not in the abundance of things which he possess. Therefore, your value is not in your big cars, your houses or your private jet. Your value is that you know God.

The Bible says, “He that boast, let him boast in this, that He knows God. Let us be very careful, we live in a generation people boast in what they have or who they are.

We are use to people rating others that they are worth several billions of naira, they own so much wealth.

Beloved, that is a wrong way to describe a child of God. If you are a child of God and you are allowing people define you by your material possessions, you are reducing yourself invariably. Your greatest asset is that you are a child of God,that is what you should have in your spirit.

There is no doubt that powers are changing hands , people are moving to the next level with mouth juicy appointments , monies are coming, positions are coming, some are already blessed, but do not be carried away and let your value be seen by your ability to honor people, to respect people and to serve people.

The higher you go, the more humble you should become. That is the mark of a child of God. The more titles you have, the more you should be able to smile with people even if they are not in your class and make people feel relaxed when they are in your presence because you are the representation of God.

If you are occupying a political office, in the academia, civil service or whatever and wherever you find yourself, as long as you are a child of God, the higher you go, you should be accessible, be someone people can talk to, be someone people can see love radiating from, because your value is not in the abundance of things you have. Serve the people, with all you have, just like Jesus served humanity.
