ABUJA – The newly elected Speaker of House Assembly Rt.Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila yesterday made history by being the first Speaker to Constitute three Ad Hoc Committees to manage the activities of the House pending the selection of substantive committees, two days after being sworn in as Speaker. 

Briefing the National Assembly correspondents immediately their Executive Session, the newly appointed Chairman Ad Hoc Committee on Media Hon Hajiya Khadija Bukar Ibrahim said that the Committees would commence work immediately even as the House has adjourned plenary for two weeks.

Hon. Bukar Ibrahim announced that the newly constituted Ad Hoc Committees were, Media, Welfare and Selection Committees, as she equally added that all the campaign platforms have been collapsed to one which all members were expected to subscribe to.

She disclosed that the Speaker was set to work as one in the House in respective of political affiliation and that the House is indivisible as well as non partisan.

Hajiya Khadija Bukar Ibrahim also announced that the speaker, Mr Femi Gbajabiamila has come up with a plan to go round the country to assess all constituency offices.

According to her that the plan to visit constituency offices in the country is a new initiative that has never been conceived by any leader in the House of Representatives since its inception.
