BENIN CITY- The Benin Monarch, His Royal Majesty, Omo N’Oba N’Edo, Uku Akpolokpolo, Oba EWUARE II, has again reiterated his resolved to settle the age-long communal crisis between Ukhiri and Ulegun dukedoms, adding that the Benin Palace have since commenced processes to achieving peace and tranquility in the communities.
The Oba of Benin who gave the assurance at the quarterly Palace Media parley, yesterday in Benin City, said that the palace will also be wading into the lingering crisis between Amagba, Oko-Oroma and Obagienevbosa communities.
Oba Ewuare who expressed displeasure over the crisis rocking the communities said that the palace had summoned all parties involved, maintaining that the palace after hearing from the communities have resorted to using traditional means in getting to the roots of the matter.
While assuring that the crisis rocking the communities will soon be over, the Oba of Benin warned that nobody should take the palace for granted by indulging in activities capable of disrupting peace and tranquility currently enjoyed in the Kingdom.
The Monarch therefore commended members of the press for their visist and advised that journalists should at all times uphold the tenants of the pen Profession by being objective, strikes balance, and anchored their reports in truth and sincerity.
Earlier, the Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Edo State Council, Comrade (Sir ) Roland Osakue on behalf of members of the Council congratulated the Benin Monarch for his recent well deserved media Award.
Comrade Osakue who showered encomiums on the revered Monarch said that the peace and development of the state which the Oba is standing for is sacrosanct to journalists in the state.
While assuring the Oba of his Union unflinching support as well as thanking the Monarch for his advise and wisdom which he opined has being his driving force in piloting the affairs of his Council, the Edo State NUJ boss said that Oba Ewuare II has brought development and progress to the state, little wonder he is love by all.
