BENIN CITY-The Inspector General of Police (IGP) Mohammed Abubakar Adamu has ordered police in Edo to return to their respective duty posts, protect themselves as it does not make sense for a policeman to be killed when he is carrying a rifle.

IGP Mohammed gave the order while addressing operatives of the Edo State Police Command during his post #EndSARS protest visit to the state, yesterday.

“Does it make sense to you for a policeman to die when he is carrying a rifle?”. He quizzed rhetorically.

He enjoined the officers to always remember Force order 237 which spells out the condition under which an operative can use his firearms as police officers are also entitled to human rights protection.

IGP Mohammed Adamu explained that the targets of the criminals that hijacked the #EndSARS protests was to provoke police maximum force towards unprofessional conducts.
