The Curtains will be drawn on the 20th National Sports Festival, ‘Edo 2020 Games’ today with track events of Relay Race as the only sporting event slated for the day . The track events include mixed relay, 4 x 100 meters and 4 x 400 meters for men and women
According to the programme of events by the Consultant, Ceremonial, Edo 2020 Dr. Henry Nzekwu released by Ebomhiana Musa,Project Manager,Media and Communications,Edo 2020,other events lined up to ensure a colourful closing ceremony of the twelve-day sports fiesta include musical performance on stage by three A Class Nigerian artists Franchize, Joeboy and Teni the Entertainer to spice up the ceremony.
The ceremony which is designed to last for just three (3) hours ;6pm to 9pm, according to Nzekwu, will also feature parade by athletes, short speeches by Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, the Honorable Minister for Youth and Sports Development, Chief Sunday Dare and the Deputy Governor who also doubles as the Chairman of the Local Organizing Committee, LOC, Rt Hon. Comrade Philip Shaibu.
The Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo is expected to declare the games closed after which the torch of unity which was lit at the start of the games will be extinguished.
