… Beat Kaduna, FCT in Football
BENIN CITY – Sporting activities have now fully picked up at the ongoing National Sports Festival holding in Benin city after a colourful opening ceremony during which the Youth and sports minister officially declared the games opened as Edo wins two gold medals in Cycling beat Kaduna and FCT in football.
Tombrapa Gripa and Goodness Temple finished tops each in the female and male category respectively to secure the two gold medals for the host Edo .
In the group stages of football actions,Edo female spank Kaduna by three unreplied goals and will be engaged with Imo state team in the last group game while their male counterparts defeated FCT by 2-1.
In hockey preliminary game played at the Maria Goretti College,Edo played to a one all draw with Delta in the male event.
Other teams’ results in the female category include Lagos 1- Imo 1; (Bayelsa 0 kaduna 0).
Meanwhile, the most exciting moments of sports fiesta which track and field events provide will be on Friday, beginning from 8:00 am according to the programme of events.
The world class tartan track at the Samuel Ogbemudia stadium will serve its purpose.
