Edo state house of assembly on Wednesday announced the receipt of list of 11 commissioner-nominees for screening and confirmation.

The names of the 11 commissioner -nominees ,contained in a letter dated September 28 and signed by the Secretary to state government , Barr. Osarodion Ogie , include Oluwole Osamudiamen Iyamu (Esq) , Prof .(Mrs) Obehi Akoria, Dr. Joan Osa Oviawe ,Osaze Ethan Uzamere.

The others are Monday Osaigbovo, Marie Edeko (Esq), Joseph Eboigbe ,Moses Agbukor , Isoken Omo ,Andrew Emwanta and Mrs .Otse Momoh -Omorobe.

The speaker, Rt.Hon.Marcus after announcing the receipt of the list of 11 commissioner-nominees during plenary directed the house committee on rules ,business and government house to work with the Chief whip , Hon.Emma Okoduwa and Hon. Yekini Idaiye to commence with the screening of the nominees with a view to submitting its report for consideration on Monday.

Meanwhile, a 3 man ad-hoc committee has been constituted to investigate a petition by President of Traders’ welfare union of Nigeria comrade Lucky Orukpe against madam Blacky Ogiamen ,Edo state market women leader over allegation of embezzlement .

The petition titled ” a call to investigate the one hundred million naira 100,000,000 grant received by madam Blacky Omoregie Ogiamen on behalf of Edo market women donated by Edo state government under comrade Adams Oshiomhole in 2013, embezzlement of same grant suspected ” was read during plenary yesterday by the clerk, Mr. Yahaya Omogbai.

The ad-hoc committee which consist of Hon.Ephraim Aluobhosele (Igueben ) chairman , Hon. Nosa Okunbor (Orhionmwon East) and Hon. Sunny Ojiezele (Esan South East) are to submit its report to the house for consideration within 2 weeks .

Also ,the house during plenary adopted a proposed business calendar of 60 sitting days for the third session second quarter of the 7th Assembly beginning from September 28th to December 22nd.

The months of September, October, November and December each has 2 ,20 ,22 and 16 sitting days respectively for legislative duties.

In a related development, the Majority leader of the house ,Hon. Henry Okhuarobo yesterday under personal explanation informed the house of obituary and burial arrangement for his late mother, Mrs.Edna Osagie who passed on during the second week of September 2021.

The majority leader while expressing his sincere appreciation to all who stood by his family including Governor Godwin Obaseki, Deputy Governor Comrade Philip Shaibu ,the Secretary to state government Barr.Osarodion Ogie and members of the state assembly,said the burial program will begin with service of songs from October 14th ,social dance on 15th and thanksgiving service on 17th in Benin city.
