BENIN CITY – The Benin Monarch ,His Royal Majesty ,Omo N Oba N ‘Edo Uku Akpolokpolo Ewuare II has appreciated President Mohammed Buhari on his efforts and support in the reparation of the Benin artefacts.

Oba Ewuare II in the same vien appreciated the Minister of Information and Culture Alhaji Lai Mohammed ,the DG of National Commission for Museum and Monuments as well as all well meaning Nigerians for their efforts and support in the reparation of the Benin artefacts .

The Oba made the appreciation when the founder of DAAR Communications ,Chief Executive Officer of Raypower and African Independents Television (AIT) High Chief Raymond Dokpesi paid him a courtesy visit at the Palace recently .

Oba Ewuare II particularly appreciated High Chief Raymond Dokpesi considering the way he supported the return of the artefacts and the coverage of the meeting he had with Chiefs ,Enigie ,edionwere and the good people of the kingdom to the whole world.

The Oba while adding that the issue of the artefacts is very clear ,said the international community should not be mislead ,the artefacts should come back to Palace the original place it was taken from and that those reseachers need to come to Benin so that they can be properly educated on these artefacts both in written and oral history.

The Monarch subsequently used the occasion to appreciate other media gurus for their support and efforts to see that the artefacts are returned to its original place,he however clearified that only one museum will be built which will be right opposite the Palace and will be named the Benin Royal Museum.

The Oba then prayed to God and ancestors to continue to protect high Chief Dokpesi and family out of harms way .

Earlier,High Chief Raymond Dokpesi congratulated the Oba on the occasion of his birthday and 5th coronation anniversary and his efforts to see that the artefacts are returned and assured that edo people are fully with him .

He solicited for support and prayers from the Palace for the continous unity and prosperity not only in edo state but the nation as a whole.

The highpoint of the visit was a special presentation of the Red Book to the founder of DAAR Communication by the Oba.
