Warri – His Majesty, OGIAME Atuwatse III, Olu of Warri, has officially announced the derobing of the embattled Chief Ayiri Emami as Ologbotsere of Warri.

Atuwatse lll made the pronouncement at a ceremony held in his palace on Tuesday in Warri, thus ending Ayiri’s reign as Ologbotsere, traditional prime minister.

Reacting to the purported expulsion on Tuesday, the embattled Ologbotsere, Chief Ayiri Emami, in a telephone call, told our correspondent that the Olu of Warri has “crossed the red line.”

Chief Ayirmi Emami who was installed as Ologbotsere by the 20th Olu if Warrib, OGIAME Ikeneoli four years ago, insisted that he does not recognise Ogiame Atuwatse III as his king since, according to him, the new Olu’s selection before his coronation was without adherence to extend laws and traditions.

“He’s crossed the redline. The Ologbotsere family is meeting on Thursday to deliberate on this. Thereafter, l’ll give you adequate reply.

“But it suffices I tell you now that, I don’t recognise the Olu as my king because his selection didn’t follow due process.

“He can continue to do abnormal things since his coronation process was abnormal.

“So, I don’t recognise whatever he’s doing as king. I don’t want to say more because the case is still in the court,” Chief Emami noted.

The revered monarch also instructed his subjects and people Itsekiri Nation worldwide not to address the prominent chief as Ologbotsere.

Recall that Chief Ayirimi Emami, was suspended by the Ginuwa 1 Ruling House as the Ologbotsere (Prime Minister) of Warri kingdom on the 30th of March, 2021.
