Edo State Deputy Governor, Rt.Hon. Comrade Philip Shaibu, has called on Nigerian youths to take advantage of the numerous opportunities created by government to better their lives.
The Deputy Governor made the call in Fugar, the administrative headquarters of Etsako Central Local Government, during a civic reception in honour of Engr. Jonathan Lawani over his appointment as Commissioner for Environment and Sustainability.
The Deputy Governor noted that,youths as the engine room of the society,should endeavour to take advantage of opportunities aimed at enhancing their lives positively.
According to Shaibu:” Edo State Government is committed to ensuring that youths are given their pride of place in the scheme of things. Let me commend the Commissioner for being a shinning example to the youths”.
“l want to urge the youths to take their destiny in their own hands, by getting involved in the numerous opportunities created by Edo State Government through Edo jobs”.
In his address,the celebrant, Edo State Commissioner for Environment and Sustainability, Engr. Jonathan Lawani, appreciated the guests for honouring him, while pledging that he will continue to discharge his duties effectively for the good and progressive development of Edo State and Nigeria at large.
The colourful event attracted top political leaders and traditional rulers from across Edo North Senatorial District,
including Chief Mike Ogiadhomen, former Chief of Staff to former President Goodluck Jonathan and the Paramount Ruler of Avianwu Kingdom, His Royal Highness, Jackson Etokhana.
