UHUNMWODE- The Village Head and Elders of Iguovbiobo in Uhunmwode Local Government Area of Edo Sste have declared wanted a 22-year-old Mr. Obayuwana Harrison,over his alleged same-sex (gay) romance with one Mr Bright Owie, now deceased.

It was learnt that the two love birds were on December 27, 2002 caught pants-down engaging in an act the people viewed as gay practice at a farmland in the village.

Speaking with Our Crime Correspondent, the village Head, Pa. Osaretin Edobor, said that Harrison and his alleged same-sex partner Bright were caught by an unsuspected neighbour making love, an act he described as taboo and sacrilegious in the village particularly in farmland.

He informed that before the neighbour could raise the alarm, the suspected gay culprits ran away from the scene, a situation that infuriated the youths of the village who have thronged the scene in their large numbers apparently to give the suspects worst treatment of their lives.

Pa. Edobor, added that luck later ran out of Bright as he was caught by the youths while attempting to pick his bag from his house, and further disclosed that the youths angrily mobbed Bright to death in the process.

Asked if the action of the youths was not jungle justice, the village Head responded that the suspects amorous act which is highly against the traditions and customs of land attracts death penalty, hence, the people committed no crime.

He said that the village has vowed to clampdown on the feeling Obayuwana Harrison, when and wherever they set eyes on him, just as they have spread their dragnets across the nooks and crannies of the country in search of him.

It was later scooped that upon his escape, Harrison allegedly ran to his grandmother’s village, a neighbouring community for seemingly safety before disappearing to unknown location after perceiving further danger to his life.

It was further scooped that in a bid to apprehending Harrison at all costs, the youths of the village on several occasions attacks Harrison’s mother with a view to forcing her to disclose the whereabouts of her son.

Contacted, the Edo State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Kennedy Obasi, who confirmation the report said that the police is on the trail of the feeling suspect as gay practice was against the law of the country.

As at the time of filling this report, the whereabouts of Obayuwana Harrison, was yet to be ascertained.
