Many houses and shrines were set ablazed in Ofuoma village in Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State, One person has been killed following the preaching against using human being as sacrifices, worshiping of idols and among other things in the village by two preachers.
It was recalled that the preachers Emoefe John and Erevwhiohwo Broadick of Assembly of God church embarked on evangelism expedition in the village preaching against the worshiping of idols and using human as sacrifice to appease their gods in the village. The elders and the youths especially were no longer comfortable Hence there was need to confront them ( Emoefe and Broadick) with fury which resulted to the burning of many houses and shrines, and the killing of Emoefe by the angry mob in the village while the other party’s whereabouts is still unknown. The Nigerian Observer reliably gathered information that the incident which later snowballed to the killing of Emoefe in the said village which occurred on the 1st of this month.
The killing of Emoefe resulted from fulfillment of the requirement of the idols worshipers which include bringing of human as sacrifice and reconstructing of the houses and the shrines that were burnt. The anger of the mob that killed Emoefe raised after observing that their gods are angry and this resulted to massive death of elders and young ones in the community. It was also noted that, the traditional head of the community had given an order that Broadick’s whereabout must be known to face the wrath of his misdeed in order to appease the gods of the land to avoid more death among the youths and elders.
When contacted, the Nigeria police force Delta State Command through an Officer who insisted to be anonymous confirmed the killing with one suspect in police net
