Palpable fear have gripped the owner of a printing press office, Amendu Godwin, over the sudden attack and subsequent burning down of his office by members of the ruling People Democratic Party, PDP, in the state, arising from his (printer) alleged treasonable publication against President Umaru Musa Yaradua, which pointed irresistibly to the failure of those in his government to actually tell Nigerians the questionable state of health of Mr President, which the people are no longer comfortable with, hence the calls for the true position of the president’s health status became worrisome.
An impeccable source who spoke to confirm the incident said that no sooner the publication was made, which was assumed to have maligned Mr. President than the party faithful in Edo State, particularly those overzealous politicians claiming to be loyal to the leadership of the party at the national level in Abuja, mobilized their thugs to attack the printing press office at Saint Saviour Road, Benin City, where they discovered that the owner, had escaped and as such, they angrily destroyed the properties before setting the office ablaze, while threatening to shoot dead anybody that attempts to rescue the victim from the situation.
He said that as if the callous attack and burning of the office was not enough, the thugs started threatening to ceaselessly trail the owner to kill, saying the publication of the report was targeted towards denigrating the office and reputation of Mr. President, boasting that that even if the printer decides to report the matter to the police, that he would not get justice, but Instead, they would continually hunt him to kill in this regard, adding his behavior negates the constitution of this country.
