SAPELE -Ajaibo kingdom was yesterday thrown into a frenzy mood following the installation of Prince Okiemute as the new king following the transition of the former king HRH Philips Efekodo over a year ago.
The joy of having a new king among the people can not be said to be Complete as it marks the end of an era for Prince Quincy Efekodo as he can no longer return to his home town following his failure to present himself to be crowned king as tradition demands.
Prince Quincy who was the heir apparent to the throne of his ancestors had abdicated his responsibility of stepping into the shoes of his late father owing to his new found religious faith in Christian beliefs which are opposed to the traditional practices precedent to the enthronement of a new king and his burning desire to become a musician,
According to the palace source ,the king makers had taken the disappearance of Prince Quincy and his alleged refusal to accept the throne as a huge joke but the shocking news of disclosure of his identity in a musical video under Trumen Records in Italy left them with no choice than to install his younger brother whose vains also have the blue blood.
The NIGERIAN OBSERVER however gathered that Prince Quincy will have to remain in self imposed exile because it is a taboo for any person who refuses to ascend such revered throne to remain in the kingdom as there can not be two Kings in one kingdom.
Meanwhile, the new king HRH Okiemute Efekodo has expressed appreciation to his subjects and others for their various roles in the process of his ascension to the throne and assured them of his readiness to preserve the costum and traditions of the land and vowed to deal decisively with any subversive elements that might want to adulterate the people’s cultural practices.
