BENIN CITY – Pandemonium and confussion broke out in Benin City on February 28, 2011, when some angry youths stormed the Upper Sokponba Road residence of one Okunrobo Marvis, a suspected gay and unleashed terror on him mercilessly.
Our correspondent gathered that Marvis and his same sex lover, simply identified as Chukwudi had met at the Niger College, Benin city where they became close friends.
Their continually participating in social activities of the school it was reported cemented their relationship such that they were alleged to have always carried out their activities together.
It was further learned that Chukwudi later lured Marvis into gay practice and have been having sexual intercourse since then until February 15, 2011 when Chukwudi alleged cajole Marvis to come over to his house saying that his father was not at home.
The same sex lovers were alleged to have had sexual intercourse which was secretly recorded by Chukwudi.
Chukwudi it was reported later threatened to blackmail Marvis with the recorded video clip unless he(Marvis) wooed his brother for him.
This development it was gathered alleged angered Marvis and the situation created serious misunderstanding between them as Chukwudi threatened to take the video clip to the King of the community.
According to eyewitnesses, the development led to the community youths apprehending Chukwudi who was given the worst beating of his life with blood stains all over his body.
He was alleged to have led the angry mob to the residence of Marvis on February 28, 2011 where he (Okunrobo Marvis) was also beaten mercilessly before taken to the king’s palace where the King ordered his body guards to lock the homosexual victims in one of the rooms behind pending the arrival of the police that would take them for prosecution.
Confussion according to sources set in when Marvis allegedly escaped from the palace custody and has not been seen or heard of.
Consequently, the Police after arresting Chukwudi, declared the fleeing Okunrobo Marvis wanted.
The police, however, called on members of the public who may have useful information that would lead to the arrest of Marvis to approach any security formation in the country, assuring that such information would be treated in strict confidentiality.
As at press time, the whereabouts of Okunrobo Marvis was still unknown.
