BENIN CITY-The Edo State Police Command said it has commenced a manhunt for the fleeing suspects linked to the beheading of a student at the College of Education, Ekiadolor near the state capital.

The state deputy commissioner of police, Administration, DCP Mohammad Hurdi disclosed this while giving update on police investigation into the gruesome killing.

DCP Mohammad Hurdi stated that the confessions of two prime suspects earlier arrested have evidently revealed the involvement of the fleeing persons.

He identified the suspects on the run as one Marvis Omoregie (leader of the gang), Lucky Osakpolor Izekor a.k.a Akon, 19 (the group chief butcher), Okina, 21 (the amourer) and Ebo Gregory a.k.a Black Jesus, 19.

He stated that two of the suspects Lucky and Okina have been on police wanted list for similar crime.

DCP Mohammad explained that they are principal suspects as investigation had revealed that they actively participated in the crime after their leader Marvis Omoregie ordered them to behead the victim.

“We learnt that the gang leader Marvis Omoregie has travelled out of Nigeria when he discovered that investigators were closing in on him.

“He can run but he cannot hide. The Nigeria police force will not rest on their oars until all those involved in the dastardly act are brought to justice”. DC Mohammad stated.

It will be recalled that the state police command had recently paraded two suspects, Osagie Omorodion, 23, and David Odigie, 24 in connection with the killing of a 100 level students of the college on July 10, 2011.

The duo told journalists that Marvis Omoregie (their gang leader) ordered them and some others now at large to execute their captive one Larry Obanor Endurance when another cult group engaged theirs in a bloody clash at the institution.
