A 16 years, old boy, Emeka Ugo, whon ran to the capital of Edo State, Benin City for safety, escaped another assassination attempt from the same alleged people that he escaped from in the Eastern State of Enugu.

Emeka, a tiller who hails from Mpu community in Enugu, is allegedly being hunted by the Reform Ogboni Confraternity to take over his late father’s position in the cult.

His friend, Andy Dimaku who narrated the story to the Nigerian Observer, said the young boys refusal to assumed his father’s position in the confraternity has been his greatest undoing.

Dimaku said Emeka who is an orphan, haven lost his mother and siblings to the military owing to his father involvement in the activities of the Indegenous People of Biafra (IPOB), also had the misfortune of losing his late father’s house to the same security outfit.

He noted that the constant harassment and threats by the Ogboni confraternity, made the boy to escape to Benin for safety.

“It may interest you to know that his late father, Mazi Orji Ugo, occupied an important position in the Ogboni confraternity and Emeke being the only surviving son and family is being mandated to take over the position.

“It is his refusal that almost cost him his life in Enugu and made him to escape to Benin after surviving a couple of attempt to silence him.

“Well, it is to our surprise that Benin is not even safe for him; there was a first attempt on his life here that we had to incident the matter at Ugbowo Police State.

“In addition, he was confronted with spiritual battles that led to his hospitalisation at the University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH) where they couldn’t diagnosed what was wrong with him before the last incident where he narrowly escaped being killed,” stated Dimaku.

Attempt to get the reaction of the spokesman of the Police Command in Edo, Mr Stephen Onwochei, proved abortive as he neither pick nor return calls put through to his mobile phone.
