UROMI – Daredevil gunmen suspected to be secret cult members killed a Peoples Democratic Party ( PDP) Stalwart in Uromi, Mr. Iriogbe Godwin.

The WEEKEND OBSERVER scooped that the killing of Mr. Iriogbe by suspected cultists, who were alleged members of the opposition party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), were on the lookout for his son, Godwin Evans, who was fingered in the death of one All Progressives Congress (APC) member, Lucky Oseghale in one of the voting / polling centres at Uromi, Esan North East local government, at the just concluded governorship elections in Edo state.

Investigation reveals that, during the governorship election between the APC candidate, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole and the PDP candidate, Charles Airhrevbere on July 15, 2012, there was skirmish in one of the voting centres at Uromi between the PDP and APC members. The skirmish later degenerated into a serious fight, where one of the APC youth, Lucky Oseghale stabbed the PDP unit chairman, Mr. Iriogbe Godwin. In anger, Mr. Iriogbe son, Godwin Evans retaliated and stabbed Lucky who later died, but Evans escape the wrath and anger of late Lucky friends and party members.

It was also gathered that Evans father, Mr. Iriogbe was arrested, when his son was nowhere to be found, but he was later released.

It was further gathered that late Lucky Oseghale secret cult members trailed Evans to his house, where they met his father, after torturing him, he gave them the location of his son, Evans. He was thereafter killed by the cultists. Evans, who is the main target of the cult members has escape after the killing of his father.

Godwin Evans, whereabout is unknown, as he has fled for his life. He has also been declared wanted by the police for the death of Lucky Oseghale
