AGBOR – The tussle between Agbor kingdom and Ekuku – Agbor Community in Delta State has allegedly claimed the life of a prominent Chief in Agbor kingdom, Anthony Egede.

Investigation by our reporter reveals that,on May 29,2012, youths from Ekuku-Agbor attacked the resident of Chief Egede,who was accused of stealing the Crown Cap of Chief Uboh, the traditional head of Ekuku-Agbor Community

It was gathered that a young man, Kalu Kelvin, whose father was murder in sometimes 2006 was among the youths that attacked the house. The Chief,who tried to escape was hit by a hard object on his head by Kelvin. He later died after some days in the hospital.

It was further gathered that,the King of Agbor kingdom was the person that sent Chief Egede, to retrieve the Crown Cap of High Chief Uboh of Ekuku-Agbor, as he, (King of Agbor) is the only traditional head of the entire Ika people and the King of entire Agbor kingdom.

It was learnt that the crisis may not be unconnected with the recent discovery of large amount of crude oil in Ekuku-Agbor,and millions of naira and royalties accruing from the oil was only shared by few people.

Since the death of Chief Egede,most of the youths in Ekuku-Agbor Community, including Kalu Kelvin have fled for their lives as the palace, family of Chief Egede and the Police are on their trail.
