BENIN CITY – It is becoming increasingly commonplace to witness the brazen lawlessness of cult members in our society.

When the phenomenon of cultism first reared it’s ugly head in our society, it was mainly a clandestine secret society of university undergraduates in fraternal jolly. Today, all hell has been let lost as every nook and cranny has been invaded by young men with scanty to zero education all maiming and killing themselves in the name of cultism. People are being threatened, blackmailed and forced into one cult group or the other, and some are even killed for refusing to join some cult groups.

Information reaching our news desk from Uwelu Spare Part end of Benin City has it that one Oveseri Omo who is a auto welder may have been killed for refusal to join a notorious cult group ( name withheld). According to our investigation, the young man went missing after he was allegedly threatened with death for failure to join a cult group. The said Oveseri Omo was said to have taking the bold step of reporting and arresting some boys who have been pressuring him to come and become a member of their gang. Trouble, however, escalated after the young boys were released by the police under suspicious circumstances. The released boys were said to have perfected plans to have the said Oveseri Omo murdered before the young man went missing.

It has been rumored that the young man was murdered in cold blood by members of the dreaded cult group that he had the audacity to arrest. However, according to a source that spoke to our news desk on the condition of utmost anonymity, the said Oveseri Omo has fled the country altogether after he got wind of the plan to eliminate him. The source further confided in us that the police chief and head of the station was a member of the said cult group and was allegedly involved in the release of the arrested cult members without prosecution.

As at press time, the whereabouts of the said Oveseri Omo has not been ascertained but it is however hoped that the young man is still alive.
