A Pastor simply identified as Thomas Agunede and his wife have reportedly been murdered by unknown gunmen in his Church in Kaduna State.
The Pastor before his sudden death by unidentified gunmen, was the officiating minister at First Baptist Church in Chathan Avenue in Kamazou Village in Kabala in Kaduna State.
The Nigerian Observer gathered that life in Kaduna State for the family of Thomas Agunede was daily threatened by some unidentified persons who were strongly opposed to Christianity as a religion as Kaduna gradually became the hotbed of religious crisis.
Pastor Thomas Agunede on several occasions, according to reports in the community in Kaduna, was attacked by yet-to-be identified gunmen who threatened to kill every member of his household if he did not stop preaching the gospel.
The situation however degenerated as on January 1st 2014 when unknown gunmen stormed the Church killing him and his wife in the process as reports in the community revealed that Daniel Agunede their only adopted child was not at the Church during the dastardly attack.
The Nigerian Observer learned that after the killing of the clergy man and his wife, it was said that neighbours over heard the unknown gunmen saying they were going to wipe out the entire family
Meanwhile, as efforts to unravel the likely cause and those behind the murder of Pastor Thomas Agunede and his wife continued, it was gathered that Daniel Agunede who would have been of immense help in the investigation was no where to be found.
Meanwhile, efforts to obtain comments from neighbours in the community on the dastardly attack which led to the murder of the clergy man and his wife and the sudden disappearance of his adopted son, Daniel Agunede proved unsuccessful as nobody was willing to comment on the dastardly attack while one of the residents in the community reluctantly stated, “we now live in constant fear for our lives because we don’t know who is next.”
