A 13 year-old boy, Mike Ehichioya Ilenikhena has been abducted by suspected cultists in the Afuda axis of Edo .
The gunmen were said to have invaded his home in a gestapo manner shooting sporadically into the air to scare off residents, before they forced him into a waiting car and drove off.
Mike is suspected to have been taken away by the same gangs who had allegedly killed his father Pius Ilenikhena, for testifying in court against a senior Eiye cults in the area who got a life sentence as a result.
The incident which took place on April 24th 2014, sources close to the family hinted left the the area in confusion and tongues wagging.
The sources revealed that the late Pius until his death was also a police informant but got the raw deal, when the cultists invaded his house and murdered him in cold blood.
The late Pius the source further said has been working collaboratively with the relevant agencies of government to fighting cultism and related crimes in Edo State, thus making him an object of attack by the hoodlums.
Although it’s the expectation of all that the kidnapped Mike Ehichioya Ilenikhena would return alive, his situation draws parallel with the consequences of blowing off the lid in cult and other related crimes in the the State.
Armed gangs including cultists target informants who give the police information that lead to the arrest of criminal elements and restoration of peace in troubled communities by the law enforcement agencies.
Some of the informants have occasionally paid the supreme price having been murdered by the criminal gangs against whom they shared information.
