No fewer than 70 people have been confirmed dead following the April 14th 2014 Nyanya bomb blast that rocked the popular Nyanya motor park in a suburb of Abuja while over 120 others are reported to be injured .
The dreaded Boko haram insurgents have been reported to be responsible for the bloody attack .
it is said that a vehicle laden with bombs exploded at the crowded Nyanya motor park in a suburb of Abuja early morning of April 14th at the park.
Charred bodies littered the park after the explosion aided by multiple explosion from cars ,buses parked within the park.
Victims of the Nyanya motor park bomb blast were mainly passengers, transporters and traders plying the busy park through Abuja to other parts of the country.
According to confirmed media report ,the Boko haram leader Abubarkar Shekau in a recent footage days after claimed responsibility for the bloody attack.
There are strong indications that the dreaded Boko haram deployed a deadly strategy of using IED (improvised explosive device ) or kidnapped victims strapped with bombs to blow up the Nyanya motor park.
Meanwhile, members of the public whose relatives are victims of the bomb blast have begun the search and identification of corpses burnt beyond recognition.
A man identified as Peter Edosa from Edo state said that he traveled down to the suburban area of Abuja in Nyanya motor park to confirm if his friend Mr.Imayeguahi a transporter at the park was involved in the attack.
He said that calls to his phone line were unanswered as efforts to reach his only son Roland Imayeguahi were unsuccesful as he said his friend planned coming to Edo state with his son to meet his relatives before the explosion.
In the same vein, a man identified as Ahmed Lukman , who could not find his wife and children who are roadside traders at the park , feared that they might have been killed in the explosion as according to him they have not returned home after the explosion .
Also Mrs. Rose Bello ,a trader from Kwara state said she came to collect the remains of her husband Mr.Tunde Bello another transporter killed in the blast .
Weeping uncontrollably as she narrated her last encounter with her husband before his untimely death, Mrs Bello said her husband came visiting barely 2weeks ago to see his family and returned a day before the explosion.
Recent attacks in Abuja and other parts of the country by the dreaded Boko haram using IED or kidnapped victims to blow up crowded places have caused many to live in fear while others have flee in desperation to stay alive as government on daily basis seemed to be overwhelmed by the atrocities and strategies of the group.
