A middle age man from Uromi in the Esan North East Local Government Area of Edo State Emmanuel Imafidon is on the run following attempts by members of a secret society to adopt and forcefully initiate him into their occult group.
The deadly group which has gained notoriety over their involvement in violent and mysterious activities in recent years had before their latest move made subtle moves to cadjole Emmanuel Imafidon to accept to take the position of his late father in the cult in line with their practices.
Before he was killed in 2014, by the strike force of the secret society, Emmanuel’s father James Imafidon had for whatever reason refused to present his first son (Emmanuel) for initiation into the occult group thereby losing his life in the process and equally setting the stage for the present impasse.
Emmanuel was said to have repeatedly turned down every move to get him initiated before their latest resort to threat and intmidation that has forced him to go underground for fear of being hurt by the outlawed group the same way they Killed his father James Imafidon for refusing to submit to their rule of initiating members’ first sons into the secret cult.
Before running away from home, Emmanuel reportedly escaped a kidnap attempt by men suspected to be members of the cult group who had stormed his residence in a gestapo manner to take him away.
Emmanuel was however lucky as he reportedly left home few minutes before the Invaders came calling demanding from everyone around the whereabouts of their target.
The occult men reportedly left the scene but not without dropping a message for Emma that they would return to get him to do their bidding.
Emmanuel, a devout Christian it was learnt had vowed never to compromise on his faith no .matter the situation and has taken the honourable option of running far from home with occult group vowing to track him down and be forcefully initiated into their fold.
However, the matter has been reported to the Uromi Divisional of the Nigeria Police Force for action even though no arrest has yet been made.
