No fewer than 50 persons have been killed in an explosion in a market in Maiduguri when a bomb exploded injuring many others as the number of casualties is expected to rise.

The bomb blast attack at the market is the third in a series of attacks in months leaving many dead while five persons were abducted by the insurgents.

No group has claimed responsibility for the bomb blast attack and kidnap of July 1st ,2014 however there are strong indications that the Islamic sect BokoHaram are behind the dastardly attack.

It was gathered that immediately a bomb explosion occurred at the market, traders and other people around scampered for safety as more casualties were discovered at the busy and crowded market.

Also confirmed report revealed that the insurgents abducted some persons whose whereabouts is unknown as the insurgents shot sporadically after the bomb attack from a hideout and began to forcefully take people into a waiting vehicle, it was gathered.

A popular businessman identified as Kevin Osayande who is into supplies of goods and services with his car in the market was abducted along with some occupants of his vehicle.

Meanwhile, the identity of other abducted victims were later given as Chibuike Romania, Okija Arinze, Sergius Agunyi and Ibe Nwankwo.

The abducted victims were said to be big time businessmen at the popular market in Maiduguri.

Meanwhile, at the time of this report the whereabout of the abducted victims remain unknown as efforts were being made to clean up the market by the relevant agencies
