Oduwa Aibangbe who was arrested by the Ekpoma Police Division has led the police to arrest some other members of lesbians and gays who attended the Ekpoma party which became violent leading to the death of one Osas Esther.
The Police who have been investigating the cause of death of Osas Esther and the fight that broke out in the party have made significant arrest while some others have been implicated in the act. Lesbianism and homosexuality is against the laws of Nigeria and any one found guilty will spend the next 14 years behind bars.
According to the police, Oduwa Aibangbe has implicated her partner Hope John Umoeya who she admitted is one of the organizers of the party and both has been into lesbianism for years.
Investigation revealed that the said Hope John Umoeya was among many other lesbians and Gays who gathered at a birthday party in Ekpoma on Sunday 25th of May 2014 where several persons were injured while one Osas Esther lost her life during a fight.
Report had it that one Oduwa Aibangbe who was amongst those arrested some days later implicated Hope John Umoeya as her lover and one of the organizers of the birthday party which turned violent where one person who was stabbed in the stomach lost a lot of blood and died on the way to the hospital.
According to Police investigating Officers Inspector Eromosele disclosed that Hope John Umoeya was implicated in the fracas as a lesbian by her partner Oduwa and her lesbian history traced to her Secondary school days where she was arrested twice but couldn’t be prosecuted because she was a minor (underage). Several of her lesbian friends and their partners who attended the party from Benin city and other states were arrested.
The police officer said Oduwa Aibangbe who was also arrested in her hideout, a hospital where she went to treat herself confessed that she grew up as a lesbian and because of her involvement in lesbianism her parents sent her away from their family house where they lived in Uguzama Village in Ovia North-East Local Government area of Edo state. She began living on her own since her tender age and Hope John Umoeya has been her lover for over two years.
Continuing the police officer said it took them over a month to extract vital information from those arrested including Oduwa Aibangbe who has given very vital information that has helped the police so far in their investigation as they operate their Homosexual activities like a secret cult, very secretive kind of humans, he said.
According to the suspect statement, Aibangbe said “Hope who is her partner a native of Okon Village in Ikot Abasi Local Government Area of Akwa-ibom State was also present at the party as both of us escaped after the incident broke out, before the police arrived at the venue”.
She also admitted that Hope has being the one helping her financially since her parents Elder Peter and Mrs. Blessing Omosefe Aibangbe and her community in Uguzama village barnished her. They claimed she was a witch from her tender age because of her lesbian behaviour.
Further investigation revealed that the said Hope John Umoeya has been involved in lesbianism while in Secondary school and her parents try to stopped her from the shameful act, but all proved abortive. Her father, Rev. John, who refused to speak further just said “She is a shame to our family”.
Police investigation revealed that Hope Umoeya and four others including Faith Osamudiamen, Ade Ogiemwonyi, Isreal Chukwuma and Kingsley Amos who all went hiding have been declared wanted while Oduwa Aibangbe and other lesbians and gays arrested are in Police net charge for participating in lesbian and gay activities and the murder of Osas Esther as they await prosecution.
