OWERRI, IMO- Imo- The authorities of the Nigerian Police, Imo State Police Command, have arrested and charged a middle-aged man, Ike Oke, to court over a case of an alleged gay practice, just as they have declared his partner, David Osarodion, who escaped, wanted over his complicity in the alleged illicit practice.
It would be recalled that Ike Oke and David Osarodion, started practising gay immediately after they met at night club in Owerri, the Imo State capital in 2013.
An impeccable source who spoke on the condition of anonymity said that David Osarodion had been accused severally of indulging into gay practice which he started in Benin City, Edo State in early 2005 with one Harrison, who was a worker in his (David Osarodion) father’s enterprises, as he (Harrison) who was usually teaching him (David Osarodion) how to swim, took the advantage to lure him into gay to the extent that in 2006, Harrison had attempted to have an anal sex but he refused the offer.
It is noted that their relationship reach climax in 2007 after they had both attended a party and the relationship was in top gear till 2013, when David Osarodion and his partner, Harrison, were abruptly caught in September 2013 by the late father of David Osarodion, who eventually the employer to Harrison and as such the father of David Osarodion, sacked him from his office after discovered the evil practice and took his son, (David) to the work place and angrily burnt his leg.
It is a fact that David Osarodion, who had lost moral value, had to leave his father’s house to his maternal uncle’s house where he stayed. But having discovered that the shame of his alleged involvement in the illicit practice was still resonating, he left Benin City, Edo State for Imo State to re-organize himself, as his going to Owerri, Imo State further exacerbated the already bad situation, since he met Ike Oke, who promised to accommodate him in his apartment, especially in view of the facts that, he was a welder by profession and they were intimately locked in a relationship before the end of 2013 by constantly having anal sex and the relationship lingered till in early June when both the said David Osarodion and Ike Oke went to a birthday party at Otoko Village where an argument broke out between him (Ike Oke) and his estranged gay lover, accusing Ike Oke of jilting him.
While the skirmishes lingered, the elders and people of the Otoko Village, who were surprised of the causes of the quarrel frowned at the development and as such, accosted them and before the police came at the instant of the elders, David Osarodion escaped to Benin especially when his relations have initially called him to inform him of his father’s death and was expected to come to Benin City for the burial ceremony.
The when David Osarodion came back to Owerri from Benin City, after his father’s burial ceremony, towards the ending of June, one Unity Sunday, who is a close friend to Ike Oke told David Osarodion that he (Ike Oke) had been arrested and presently his confession had implicated him (David Osarodion) and that he had confessed how David Osarodion had been practicing gay in Benin City before he ran away to Imo State, and that he (David Osarodion) was the person who lured him into the gay practice.
Since the police had launched investigations into the case, the police then traced the said David Osarodion to Benin City where it was further confirmed how he had been involved in gay practice to the extent that his late father angrily burnt his leg.
The police having satisfied with the evidence before them, charged Ike Oke to court and declared David Osarodion wanted to enable him face the full wrath of the law, stressing that he, Ike Oke is presently cooling his head in Owerri Prison while awaiting the arrest and subsequent prosecution of his partner, David Osarodion, since the jail term is 14yrs according to the Nigeria justice system.
Confirming the case, the Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Imo State police command, said that Ike Oke is already in prison custody, saying they have launched a search warrant against David Osarodion to arrest and prosecuted in the law court for his alleged case of gay practice since the Nigeria supreme law forbids it and in addition, the elders of Otoko Village had also vowed to sanction the said David Osarodion spiritually since it is an abomination for man to have a sex with a fellow man and that the ancestors are angry unless some traditional rituals need to be performed by the escaped partner to restore sanity or alternatively be killed to appease the gods of the land.
