Since the gruesome murder of a renouned politician and PDP local government chairmanship aspirant in Egor LG council in Edo State ,Mr Bosede Akpata and his three children by yet to be identified gunmen, the deceased eldest son Segun Akpata and his mother Margaret Akpata have gone missing.
According to a police extract obtained in Benin, both Segun Akpata and his mother Margaret Akpata’s whereabouts had remained unknown since the attack by the felons on the Akpatas on August 14, 2014 that led to the killing of the breadwinner Bosede Akpata and three of his children Kayode Akpata, Akin Akpata and Gladys Akpata.
The Police Extract read in parts, “That on August 14, 2014, at about 20 00 hrs, unknown gunmen invaded the residence of Mr Bosede Akpata at Ugbiyokho, Upper Ekenwan Road in Benin City strangling the PDP aspirant for the chairmanship position for Egor local government area to death and also killing three of his children namely Kayode Akpata (m) Akin Akpata (m)and Gladys Akpata (f).
“That after the attack, the whereabouts of Bosede Akpata’s eldest son Segun Akpata is unknown as he however manage to escape during the attack by the assassins on his father”.
The Nigerian Observer reports that the police extract was made pursuant to an entry made by a neighbour who lived in the same community with the late Bosede Akpata.
It was however gathered that the unknown gunmen dropped a death threat letter vowing to eliminate the said Segun Akpata wherever he is seen around in the country.
