AWKA – Chief Victor Umeh, National Chairman of All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA), was among the candidates for the 2015 polls in Anambra, who was presented with the party’s flag on Saturday in Awka.
The flags were presented to the candidates, who would contest on the platform of APGA for the Anambra State House of Assembly and National Assembly at a rally in Awka.
Umeh is contesting for the Anambra Central Senatorial seat; currently occupied by Sen. Chris Ngige.
In his remarks, Umeh recalled the achievements of APGA led-government in the state, dating back to Chief Peter Obi’s administration, and urged the people to continue to support the party.
He said that APGA’s resolve to support President Goodluck Jonathan at the federal level was for continuity of the transformation agenda.
Governor Willie Obiano who also spoke, congratulated the successful candidates, stressing that they were the best candidates of the party for 2015 general elections.
The governor reiterated his administration’s resolve to fight crime, and urged indigenes of the state to return home for the yuletide, as “criminal elements have been sacked from Anambra.’’
Newsmen reports that other candidates who were given flags were Earnest Ndukwe  (Anambra South Senatorial zone ) and Dubem Obaze, (Anambra North Senatorial zone),
Chief Godson Ezenagu, Mr Dozie Nwankwo and Mrs Tabansi Okoye, also received the party’s flags for Awka North/ South, Anaocha; Dunukofia/Njikoka and Onitsha North/ South federal constituencies, respectively.
