The Lagos State House of Assembly has lauded the All Progressives Congress (APC) leadership over peaceful resolution on the choice of Vice-Presidential candidate for the February 2015 Presidential elections.
The commendation was made by the spokesperson of the House Hon Segun Olulade while speaking to journalists in Lagos on Thursday in the wake of emergence of Professor Yemi Osinbajo SAN as the Vice-Presidential candidate of the APC to run alongside Gen. Muhammadu Buhari rtd.
Olulade said APC as a party has continued to demonstrate best practices in internal democracy in all processes leading to selection of candidates of the party at all levels.
He added that the Senior Special Assistance to President Jonathan on Public Affairs, Dr Doyin Okupe, can now wake up from his slumber and stop living in false and unreal perception of the opposition party, the APC. Olulade said APC has surpassed all predictions of Doyin Okupe that the party will not last 1 year and that it would crumble at critical decision point, claiming that APC is full of undemocratic and selfish political gladiators.
Olulade who is the Epe Constituency II representative in the House retreated that APC has been able to surmount all obstacles predicted by the ruling party as brick-wall that would mark the end of APC in Nigeria. Quoting him further, Hon Olulade said “APC made wide consultation before concluding on the choice of Prof Osinbajo, and the outcome is acceptable to the entire party members across board. In the same vein, the party picked its Presidential candidate without hitch as well as other positions across Nigeria in free and fair contests compared to crisis-ridden PDP primaries all over the country.
