The Edo State Police Command has arrested one gay suspect identified as John Agustin after he was allegedly caught by his girlfriend making love with another male known as Igbinosun Eddy on December 24th, 2014.
The girlfriend identified as Joy, the Nigerian Observer gathered walked in on the two male lovers who had been friends from their secondary school days at the Western Boys High School in Benin City.
According to an eyewitness who pleaded anonymity, Joy who had come to spend the evening with her boyfriend( John) unknown to her was involved in the act of homosexual practice with another male as revealed immediately she walked into his apartment unsuspectingly.
The girlfriend, the eyewitness said, screamed out loud to attract the attention of a mammoth crowd who immediately gathered at the scene of the sacrilegious and forbidden act but found only John as the other was nowhere to be found.
It was said that one of the suspects, Igbinosun Eddy managed to escape before the angry youths and neighbours gathered while John ,the owner of the apartment where the sacrilegious act was committed received all the torture as the angry mob unleashed their anger on him for desecrating their land before the timely arrival of the police who arrested him after rescuing him from the angry youths.
Meanwhile, the police in a statement made available to the Nigerian Observer said it was in custody of a male suspect identified as John agustin 18 years of age who was involved in homosexual practice with another male known as Igbinosun Eddy after escaping from the scene of arrest before the arrival of the police.
The statement further stated that it would soon charge the arrested suspect to court immediately investigations into the case was concluded adding that the runaway suspect Igbinosun Eddy, would be arrested with the combined efforts of other security agencies including local vigilante members in the state.
Declaring the runaway homosexual suspect, Igbinosun Eddy wanted,the police in the statement further stated that a handsome reward awaits any member of the public with any useful information that would lead to the arrest of the fleeing Igbinosun Eddy whose whereabouts remain unknown.
