BENIN CITY – A middle-aged man, Dele Osarumwense has narrowly escaped from being killed by some angry mob over his alleged involvement in same-sex intercourse with his lover simply identified as Gabriel Enoma.

It was gathered that Osarumwense and Enoma have been making some funny movements which elicited suspicious from neighbours, especially the youths who placed them on strict monitoring unknown to them, until 12th of December, 2014 when they were caught red-handed in an uncompleted building around Ikpoba Hill axis of Benin city.

Our reporter gathered that Osarumwense and Enoma were busy having fun in the uncompleted building unknowingly that some community youths had laid ambush for them.

It was further gathered that the youths busted them and caught them pant down making love. This infuriated the youths who viewed the act as taboo and barbarick.

The youths it was reported immediately alerted other members of the community.

According to eyewitnesses, Dele Osarumwense and Gabriel Enoma were allegedly lynched to stupor by the mob before he (Osarumwense) narrowly escaped from the scene before the arrival of the Intelligent Response Team (IRT) of the Nigerian police force who later declared him wanted for committing homosexual act offence, just as the community also staged a manhunt for Osarumwense whose whereabout was unknown as at the time of gathering this report.

The police said if found, Osarumwense would be prosecuted at the court of law for violating the law and traditional norm of the land.

It will be noted that the Nigerian law prescribed 14 years in prison for anyone found guilty of incest, gay and homosexual acts in the country.

Meanwhile, the whereabouts of Dele Osarumwense was still unknown as at the time of filing in this report.
