SOKOTO – Governor  Aliyu Wamakko of Sokoto State has decried non reimbursement of over N7 billion by the Federal Government to the state government.
Presenting the 2015 appropriation bill of over N112.5 billion to the State House of Assembly in Sokoto, Wamakko said the money was used to rehabilitate some federal roads and other projects in the state.
“We have executed the projects, including federal roads sequel to the assurance that the money will be refunded to the state government.
“While not in anyway regretting our action, it is imperative to put it on record that we have not secured the reimbursement from the federal government in spite of several follow ups.”
Wamakko, who also lamented that the state’s resources were limited, expressed government’s resolve to overcome the challenges.
This, according to him, was to ensure good governance for the benefit of the citizens.
