PARIS Saint-Germain attacker Edinson Cavani has opened up on his relationship with Zlatan Ibrahimovic by rejecting talk of a rift between the pair and revealing he wants to learn from his team-mate.
A number of reports from France have claimed the former Napoli star has fallen out with his fellow forward, but Cavani has made it clear there’s no truth in those rumours.
“I do not have any problems with Ibrahimovic,” Cavani was quoted as saying by L’Equipe.
“This is all one big media circus. It’s the French press that is trying to create a problem.
“There is mutual respect between Ibrahimovic and I. How could I not have respect for him? He has made history.
“I can learn a lot from Ibrahimovic.”
Cavani has often been used out wide since joining PSG from Napoli in July 2013 due to the presence of Ibrahimovic, who is the club’s first-choice No.9 under head coach Laurent Blanc.
The 27-year-old was recently suspended for two games by Blanc after returning late from his holiday, but he has scored twice in as many appearances since returning to the PSG squad.
