BENIN CITY- The General Overseer and Spiritual Leader of Christ’s Chosen Church of God International, Snr. Apostle Joshua Osasuyi has called on Christians never to glory or praise themselves, rather, to give glory and praises to God for the gifts of God upon their lives.
He made the call while delivering a sermon titled, “Glory in the Lord, not yourself” to mark the end of the 2015 International Conference of the church in Benin City, Edo State yesterday.
Taking his text from the book of Jer 9:23-24, and II Corinthians 10:12-18, he said this year’s conference has equipped those present with power which should be used to win souls for Christ.
“This conference has equipped you with great power; use such to evangelise and win souls for Christ.
“Remove bitterness, hatred, pride from your life so that the gift will be effective to the benefit of mankind.”
Continuing, he said, “if you want God to glorify himself in whatever you do, put what you have learnt in the conference to good use and continue to serve God well”.
The Director of Land and Housing/ 2nd Vice Chairman of the Church Council, Snr. Apostle (Dr.) Onaghise JP said this year’s conference is a conference of freedom that would bring a turn around in the lives of those present.
“We believe in a drastic change in the lives of our members and I advise them to put what they learnt into practice; when this is done, their lives would change for the better,” he conclude.
