According to him, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu lured us to join him in PDP and later dumped us to our fate and since we have all realized our errors, we have decided to come back to the party we collectively built to sustain the developmental strides of this present administration of Comrade Adams Aliyu Oshiomhole in the state.
Mr. Lord Amen Osunde, pointed out that PDP was a party full of deceits, lies, setback and frustrations, consequent upon which they left.
He said that they were back home to reunite with their fellow brothers and sisters in the party and urged the party faithful to accept them with a sense of humanity.
In their separate remarks, the Executive Chairman of Egor Local Government Council, Hon. (Comrade) Victor O. Enobakhare, the Edo South Senatorial Leader of APC Barr. Gentleman Amegor, and APC Chairman Egor, Chief Benjamin Omoregie, extolled the virtues of the defectors, describing them as role models.
They said that the defectors have come back home to restructure the party towards winning the forthcoming general elections in the state and thanked them for not only choosing to come back but also taking bold steps to abandon the opposition party which was regarded as a dead party in the state.
They assured the defectors of a level playing ground in the party to ensure victory in the general elections.
While Hon. V.O. The council boss further pointed out that to completely bury PDP, in the locality, they (Party Leaders) have devised means of sensitizing APC members from ward to local government levels on the need to collect their permanent Voters’ Cards (PVC) as the only way they could exercise their franchise in the forthcoming elections, just as he frowned at the process of distributing the PVCs by INEC.
Hon. Enobakhare, who highly felt disgusted about the entire process, however, was optimistic that the percentage votes counts from the local government will be replica of the 2011 and 2012 general elections in the state and urged INEC to elongate the process of collecting the PVCs, even after the elections.
