KANO – President Goodluck Jonathan has restated the commitment of the Federal Government to reactivate all the moribund industries in Kano if re-elected in February.
He made the remark while addressing party supporters at the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP)’s Presidential campaign rally held at the Polo Ground on Wednesday in Kano.
“We have intervened in so many projects but I am assuring you we will work with the PDP incoming government to provide jobs to women and youth.
“This will ensure that the economy of the state continue to improve from strength to strength,’’ he said.
According to him, the federal government is determined to ensure total eradication of polio particularly in states where such cases exist.
“Let me assure you that the World Health Organisation (WHO) will declare Nigeria polio free this year,’’ he said.
He used the occasion to commend a youth group for donating N2 million for the purchase his nomination form.
Jonathan appreciated the people of the state for the warm reception accorded him, and urged them to vote for the PDP in order to enjoy more dividends of democracy.
Reports state that prominent personalities including governors and national officers of the party attended the event.
