Benin city – The Director of the National Orientation Agency (NOA), Edo State, Mrs. Magdaline Umunnah has said that the Independent National Electoral commission (INEC) has decentralized the ongoing distribution of Permanent Voter’s Cards (PVCs) to the ward level.
Mrs. Umunnah made the disclosure in a paper titled, “2015 General Elections: Voting Process” which she delivered at the 2015 citizens summit organized in Benin city by the Benin 1 Zone of the National Association of Seadogs (aka Pyrate Confraternity).
The paper was presented on her behalf by Mr. M. T. Ajayi.
Umunnah said the development was a fall out of President Goodluck Jonathans directive to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
She urged key players in the mobilization and sensitization of voters to take time to educate their followers and other stakeholders on the electoral process.
Describing the summit as timely, she commended NAS for commiting itself to the ideals of ensuring that the next months general elections are credible.
Mrs. Umunnah also appealed to all stakeholders on the need to promote the ideals of peace and good sportsmanship during the elections.
Chairman, Organising Committee of the summit, Barrister Omimi Obaide said the summit was part of NAS contributions to the process of sensitizing the electorate on the voting process.
