BENIN CITY – An award of excellence has been conferred on Edo State Deputy Governor, Dr. Pius Egberanmwen Odubu on account of his contributions to the development of the state.
The award was presented to the deputy governor in Government House, Benin City by Edo Youth Political Vanguard (EYPV) led by Comrade Omomila Michael.
Dr. Odubu who was represented by the deputy Chief of Staff, Office of the deputy governor, Prince Ekpenriebe Akenzua appreciated the youth organization for recognizing the deputy governor’s contributions to the progress and development of the state.
He assured that the state government would continue in its efforts to reposition the State among the comity of states.
He advised the youths not to allow themselves to be used as cannon fodders by politicians and urged Edo Youth Political Vanguard to support the state government’s efforts to improve the quality of live in the state.
The Cordinator-General, Edo Youth Political Vanguard, Comrade Omomila Michael, spoke in glowing terms of the leadership style of Dr. Odubu in consolidating the efforts of Comrade Adams Oshiomhole whose tenure has transferred the fortunes of Edo State.
He said the giant – strides of the present administration have touched virtually all spheres of human endeavour, ranging from schools, hospitals, roads, markets and human capacity building.
