CARLOS Tevez says he has no intention of extending his current contract with Juventus.
Tevez, 30, is tied to the Serie A champions until the end of June 2016 and he has indicated that he then intends to leave the club, most probably to return to Argentina, where he has made no secret of his wish to end his career at Boca Juniors.
Tevez told the Argentine website Ole: “My intention is to fulfil this contract, like I have already said and everybody has known this ever since I arrived at Juve.
“I still have a year and a half to go and it’s difficult to walk away while I’m playing so well.
“I’ve said that I want to honour my contract right to the end, but I have no intention of extending it because that is not what I feel like doing at this moment.”
Tevez joined Juve from Manchester City in 2013 in a deal reported to be worth just nine million euros, plus add-ons.
He scored 19 goals in his first season in Serie A and is currently the league’s top goalscorer with 10 in 15 games. He also ended a Champions League goalscoring drought that had lasted over three years with his brace against Malmo in September, while he added a third goal in the competition in the reverse fixture in Sweden.
He is due to arrive back in Turin yesterday in preparation for Tuesday’s clash with Inter Milan at the Juventus Stadium.
Juve, who have a three-point advantage at the top of Serie A, travel to Napoli five days later.
