BENIN CITY – A woman (name withheld), has decried the brutal killing of her daughter, Happy Moses and cruel threatening of the life of her son, Moses Actor by the associates of two armed robbery suspects, Nehi Odia and Osas Idemudia, who were arrested and charged to Criminal Court I, Benin City over their complicity on the killing of a renowned politician, Mr. Ehigie and his wife.
Speaking with crime journalists, the woman said that trouble with her son started when on the 14th of January 2012, her son, Moses Actor, narrowly escaped assassination as he ran into armed robbers while coming from work, a situation, which led to the killing of a popular politician and his wife who tried to resist the armed robbers, as they shot sporadically to scare possible external attack.
She said further that as her son sighted the armed robbers, he quickly ran to the Police Station to lodge a complaint and before the arrival of the Police at the scene, the couple died and as such, the police in their twist, started requesting her son, Moses Actor to come to the station as the principal witness.
She added that her son was arrested and later released on bail after four days in detention, stressing that a month later the police came to request her son to come to testify and identify the two armed robbery suspects who were immediately arrested on 6th of February 2013.
The source added that her son was taken to court where he actually identified the two robbers who were thereafter sentenced to death for killing Mr. and Mrs. Ehigie, explaining that no sooner her son testified than he started receiving death calls from the associates of the two sentenced robbery suspects threatening to kill him (Moses Actor) for testifying against their criminal associates to the extent that he (Moses Actor) was beaten up by unsuspected hoodlums while coming from work, a situation which forced her son to run away from Benin City to Kano.
She pointed out that on the 20th of December, 2014, her son came back to Benin City to celebrate the Christmas with her but that on the 26th of December, 2014, which was a Boxing Day, the hoodlums who got the wind of his coming back to Benin, sent ceaseless text messages to him (Moses Actor) telling him that they would kill him since his testimony had sentenced their criminal associates to death..
She pointed out that based on that several threats, she asked her son to leave the house, but in exercise of their deadly mission, the hoodlums cum assassins callously invaded their house and started demanding from her, the whereabouts of her son, Moses Actor and before she could answer, they shot and killed her daughter, Happy Moses in lieu of her escaped brother and on that premise her son who was lucky to have escaped then used the opportunity to escape further as his escape never go down well with the assassins who boasted to kill him whenever and wherever they see him, even though it takes them 20 years and based on that, she appealed for the protection of her son to avoid being killed especially in view of the fact that his sister had been killed over the same matter.
