Bauchi – Governor Isa Yuguda of Bauchi State called on Nigerians to remain calm and accept the postponement of the nation’s general election as “ the will of God”.
Yuguda made the call in Bauchi, while addressing newsmen over the shift in date, which had generated mixed reactions from Nigerians.
“God has already ordained that the nation’s election will be postponed and as far as I am concerned, whatever God ordains is what I will abide by.
“So Nigerians should see the postponement as the will of God. What we need to do is pray that the elections are conducted successfully on the new dates, “he said.
Yuguda appealed to Nigerians to respect the will of the Almighty Allah and patiently wait for the rescheduled dates.
“My appeal to the people is that they should respect the will of almighty Allah and be patient.
“The election has been rescheduled. March 28 will come and go. All we have to do is to remain calm and be patient.,’’ the governor said.
He said that the postponement had given the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), as well as the opposition parties, the opportunity to work hard and canvass for more votes.
