Gada (Sokoto) – Governor Aliyu Wamakko of Sokoto State has advised youths in the state to shun all forms of violence before, during and after the 2015 general elections and avoid thuggery.
He gave the advice while addressing APC supporters at Gada town, Headquarters of Gada Local Government Area of the state during the party’s gubernatorial campaign rally in the area.
He called for more political tolerance and understanding, saying that as progressives ‘’we don’t fight’’.
Wamakko, however, urged the party supporters maintain law and order, stressing that ‘’ the party has come to stay to ensure good democratic governance’’.
He urged them to put all hands on deck to promote the lofty ideals of the party in the rural areas.
The governor said that the APC-led administration in the state would continue to initiate peoples-oriented programmes aimed at improving the living standards of the people.
He called on the party supporters to obtain their permanent voter cards for full participation in the electoral processes.
According to him, it is only by acquiring the permanent voter cards that they can vote for APC candidates.
“ Don’t allow any body to collect your card, save it for the elections to realise the political change of leadership,” he said.
In his remarks, Alhaji Aminu Tambuwal, the APC Gubernatorial Candidate in the state, promised to sustain the political growth in the state.
He said that the incoming administration would continue from where the present regime stopped to enable the people feel the impact of democracy dividends.
He commended the poeple for practically demonstrating political maturity and called on them to embark on house-to-house campaign to ensure total victory of the party.
Alhaji Sahabi Gada, Secretary to the State Government, commended the state government for the construction of 10 wards primary health centres and for providing 10 ambulances for improving the heath care needs of the people in the area.
He said that numerous capital projects such as roads constructions, education, agriculture, among others, were initiated and funded by the state government in the area.
‘’We will do everything politically possible to ensure that all eligible voters in our area vote for APC candidates to ensure continuity,” Gada said.
