The disciples of Jesus Christ in the book of Acts 11:26 were called Christians for the first time in the city of Antioch, when the people of Antioch saw that the disciples assembled themselves in the church throughout a whole year teaching the people.  The disciples of Jesus in Antioch were seen to be Christ-like as they pre-occupied themselves with their sole assignment, the great commission which was handed down to them by Jesus Christ, before His ascension into heaven. And that great commission, as written in Matthew 28:20 was that, the disciples and indeed all genuine followers of Christ should go and teach all nations, making them to observe all things whatsoever Jesus has commanded them with the promise that He will be with them always as long as they remain in their divine calling. From thence the disciples were not in any way distracted from their heavenly assignment as we can observe in Mark 16:19-20 “So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God. And they went forth, and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following.”
Jesus Christ says in John 17:18 that as His Father hath sent Him into the world (to preach good tidings unto the meek, and to bind up the broken-hearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives etc.) even so has He also sent His disciples into the world. Jesus further stated in verse 16, that His disciples were not of the world even as He was not of this world. If therefore the disciples of Jesus Christ and indeed all genuine Christians are not of this world, it means they are not to love the world, neither the things that are in the world. Otherwise, if they do, it means the love of God is not in them as it is written in I John 2:15. And one of the three abominable things that are in this world is pride of life which is not of the Father but of the world.
It is important to recognize the fact that genuine Christians, that is, the saints of God, who are born of the Spirit of truth are always at war with principalities and powers, with spiritual wickedness in high places, with the rulers of the darkness of the world. All these make up the army of satan. Christian soldiers, especially the Ministers of God are the major targets of these principalities and powers who muster their unseen arrays waiting for their unguarded hour. And so they cannot afford to be at ease in Zion and entangle themselves with the affairs of this life. They live their lives in accordance to the scripture in II Timothy 2:4, which reads “No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier.”  True Christians must recognize the fact that the whole world lieth in wickedness because the world and its vain glory belong to satan, the prince of this world. Satan tempted Jesus Christ with the kingdoms of the world and their vain glories. That would have meant bowing down to satan, if he had allowed Himself to be enticed by the glory of this world.
Even when Jesus perceived the intention of some men to forcibly make Him a king, because they saw all the miracles that He did, Jesus avoided this earthly honour, by departing from them to hide Himself. John 6:15 He declined the earthly honour because He knew that His kingdom was not of this world, where people who desperately aspire for a political ambition make use of their “loyalists” to defend themselves against their enemies or their opponents.  John 18:36
In Isaiah 42:2, Prophet Isaiah, prophesied of Jesus Christ who is the perfect example for all Christians, who are conscious of heaven. And what was that prophecy? “He shall not cry, nor lift up, nor cause his voice to be heard in the street.” The meaning of this prophecy is this: Jesus would not contend with opponents neither would He raise His voice in the street to cause a mob “spirit” that would incite the people to fight for Him against His opponents. Therefore, the kingdom of the world as spoken by Jesus is not for heaven-bound Christians. They have a kingdom that is yet to come, in which they shall be made kings and priests, to reign with Christ on earth here. Revelations 5:10. Christians who love the appearing of Jesus Christ in the rapture are therefore commanded to keep themselves unspotted from the world and its system. For this is the only pure and true religion for Christians. James 1:27c
Genuine Christians who want to enter heaven are warned by the Spirit of truth not to be unequally yoked together with unbelievers but to come out from amongst them and not to touch the unclean thing so that they can be the true sons and the true daughters of God the Father as written in II Corinthians 6:14-18 “Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel? And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.  Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you, And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.” POLITICKING IS AN UNCLEAN THING FOR THE SAINTS OF GOD, WHO HAVE THE VISION OF HEAVEN.
From all that has been said so far, we have come to know and understand what Christianity is all about, and who is a Christian.
We can now proceed further to define what politics is all about and who is a politician. By dictionary definition, politics means the act or science of government or the management of a political party, political affairs or opinions. It means MANEUVERING AND INTRIGUING. A politician, by dictionary definition, means an INTRIGUER OR A MANEUVRERER or one who is interested in party/partisan politics or one engaged in political life/affairs, one who makes a profession or a game of politics.
