SOKOTO – Sokoto State gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress  (APC), Alhaji Aminu Tambuwal, has promised to give women and youths a pride of place in his administration, if elected.
Tambuwal, the Speaker of the House of Representatives made the promise in Sokoto  when he addressed various groups working for the realisation of his ambition.
“No nation or state can achieve any meaningful development if it abandons its women and youths.
“ The two groups will form the focal point of any development agenda to be executed by my administration and will ensure inclusive and sustainable empowerment programmes for them,” he vowed.
Tambuwal also promised to sustain the present administration’s policy of giving women and youths micro-credit grants.
In the same vein, he promised that entrepreneurship training would be introduced to enable them meet the challenges of the 21st century.
While urging the youths to shun social vices and abhor all forms of violence, Tambuwal said opportunities would be created in various sectors such as agriculture, health, housing development and education.
Speaking on behalf of the groups, Mr Muhammad Shamaki and Hajiya Hadiza Ahmed vowed to ensure that the APC formed the next government in the state.
They appealed to Tambuwal to ensure that the all challenges faced by women and youths in the state were frontally addressed , if elected.
