THE traditional ruler of Port Harcourt, Rivers, Eze Victor Woluchem, has urged the electorate to vote for candidates with integrity and character in the forthcoming general elections.
Woluchem made the call in Port Harcourt when Dr Dakuku Peterside, the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) visited him in his palace.
He said that political parties were mere platforms to elect leaders but stressed that the integrity and character of the candidates should be most important in the choice of leaders.
According to the traditional ruler, the APC candidate is well known as a man with impeccable character and integrity.
“Do not all allow politics to becloud and derail you; remain as the man we know and continue to put your trust in God,” he told the candidate.
He said that Peterside was the face of the visible development in the state, in terms of road infrastructure, and expressed the hope that he would continue the good work if elected.
He urged youths to resist being used as thugs to cause unrest that would plunge the state into violence.
Earlier, the governorship candidate said he was in the palace of the traditional ruler to seek royal blessing and prayers
