ACCORDING to Wikipedia, an online dictionary, Education in its general sense is a form of learning in which the knowledge , skills, and habits of a group of people are transferred from one generation to the next through teaching, training, or research. Every skilled person is always found with his tool for work. Education has become a veritable tool for transformation in every facet of human existence. This is because; it has, and will continue to reposition the mind of many into positive and creative thinking on how to contribute to the well being of their life, family, society and the nation at large. Its importance cannot be over floored.
We should begin to think very fast of ways we can make good use of this golden opportunity to be transformed from the world of ignorance ‘’I don’t know’’ and utilize our God given abilities to learn all we need to learn especially while we are having the time.
According to Sir Winston Churchill, a British politician who served as prime Minister of the United Kingdom from 1940 to 1945, in his assertion; ‘’To each there comes in their lifetime a special moment when they are figuratively tapped on the shoulder and offered the chances to do a very special thing, unique to them and fitted to their talents. What a tragedy would it be if that moment should find them unprepared and unqualified for that which could have been their finest hour’’.
The purpose of education should be to prepare children for life, nourishing position where they will not just fit into a better state of life but also become instrumental in savaging the system economically, politically, morally, psychologically, mentally and otherwise.
Education is essential for everyone. It’s the level of education that helps people earn respect and recognition. It is an indispensable part of life both personally and socially. However, the unequal standard of education is still a major problem that need to be resolved. Education is what everybody who exists in this present time needs to acquire to meet up with the high demand of the society. That is why many of the developed countries pay good attention to education; knowing that it can be a tool for solving national problems to a very large extent.
Education is the process of learning or getting to know things that will help one outstanding in whatever field or profession he ventures into. Basically, there are two major sides to education; they are formal and informal education. Formal education has to do with the method where the students are taught by their teachers or lecturers in their various training places like nursery, primary, secondary, and higher institutions. Usually in the classrooms and from their course outline. It involves the training i.e learning how to read and write. Informal education on the other hand is the type of education that does not involve reading and writing. For instance, leaning how to make hair [hair dressing], orientation on how to use a particular appliances. It could also be vocational, where one is taught on how to sew clothes [fashion designer], how to repair car [mechanic], and many other things that can be leant through informal education.
Many  parents choose to teach their children at home, (homeschooling), instead of enrolling them and making them study within the formal settings of private or public schools. With homeschooling, the parents take full responsibility of their chlidren’s education. It is actually a hard nut to crack. This is because the parents will definitely spend more time with their children, doing the hard work and having the patients to educate their kids. Mitchell Stevens, a Standford professor who wrote kindom of children, a history of homeschooling, which was used to be popular in the rural areas, is now being practiced widely in America’s cites as well, with children of secular, highly educated professionals as students. Which ever way education is acquired, the crux of the matter is that anyone who is educated can never remain the same.
The importance of education is undeniable for every single person. It goes without saying that education has a positive effect on human life. All people need to study. Only with the advent of education can people gain knowledge and enlarge their view over the world. For example, learning by watching TV or reading books gives people a huge amount of information about anything they are interested in such as mathematics, current news, exchange race, other countries’ cultures and so on. Apparently, people may become more useful and civilized if better educated. In areas were residence are not able to receive an appropriate education, life cannot be as thriving and prosperous as locations where there is a high standard for education.
Secondly, education play such a rudimentary role on our society that we cannot even imagine a life without it. It is a determined element for the civilization of human society. Not only does it helps us, develop healthy surroundings but it also generate an advance community. As a matter of fact, everything we create today is based on the knowledge that we obtain throughout our life by way of education.
This assist scientist in inventing equipments and devices, resulting in a high technology nowadays. The more developed life becomes, the more necessary education is for everyone. Although education has a significant influence on life, the average education is not the same in different areas; as a result, strategies are being made to resolve the problems. Without education, life would be disastrous and detrimental. Consequently, government should try their best to make education global and accessible for everyone particularly the poor and the disabled. There are still some places were the inhabitance are almost completely uneducated, causing a serious lack of knowledge.
Additionally, every child should be given equal opportunities to learn and study. Because the development of a country depends versely on the standard of education, it must do everything in its power to improve it. Although the educational systems of different countries are not similar but they have to share a common goal which is to provide its citizens a situable and proper learning.
Education is absolutely beneficial for society as a whole. It is a life-long process to each person that needs to be re-enforced throughout life. However, we need education system that may eradicate illiteracy and may provide the common an access not only to basic education but also to higher and technical education.
The importance of education cannot be downplayed. This is because, education is power and a tool for preparing future leaders. If our nations must move forward, then educational system  of our children and teaming youth must be given utmost priority.
