UROMI – The Member, House of Representatives, representing Esan North East/South East federal constituency, Hon. Friday Itulah as part of his constituency projects in Uromi has donated a primary school to the people of Ukpeko Imiokolo community, who hirtherto never had a school for her indigenes in the history of the community’s existence.
Itulah who also commissioned two blocks of classrooms in Idumu-Egean primary School in Esan North East, under the supervision of the Universal Basic Education Commission said the actualisation of the school projects is a realization of his electioneering campaign promises to his constituents noting that he facilitated the construction of additional blocks of classrooms in the community to improve the academic prowess of indigent pupils in the agrarian community.

“Ukpeko Imiokolo community has long been in existence, but has never had the opportunity of having a primary School. Pupils from this community have to cover a very long distance to attend primary School they presently attend. This is against the United Nation policy on primary education, which is to the effect that primary schools should not be more than 200m from a child.”, Itulah said.
Edo state commissioner of Basic Education, Patrick Aguinede speaking during the hand over of Ukpeko Imiokolo primary School by the Lawmaker said the gesture will go a long way to complement the effort of the state government noting that with the commissioning as well as hand-over the primary school is now a government owned school and promised to provide all necessary facilities for the immediate kick-off of the school.
